Fabulous Fur Frills

One of the biggest trends this season is the embellished collar.  Whether its sequined, jeweled, studded, or my personal favorite, fur (or faux fur if you prefer!), this style is easy to achieve by mixing and matching vintage pieces.  Fur collars became really popular in the 1950s and 60s and were seen all over coats, dresses, sweaters, and cardigans.  The great part about these vintage fur collars is that many of them were removable, so you could mix and match them with your entire wardrobe!  We have a variety of fur collars in the store right now in all shapes, sizes, and colors!  This season try mixing your fur collars with more unexpected pieces like blazers, leather jackets, chunky knits, jean jackets, and dresses.  You'll be surprised at the extra glamour (and warmth) it will add to any outfit!
Don't be afraid to mix and match your prints! View leopard as a neutral because it looks great with all colors and prints!

This collar is the cutest ever!  Peter pan collars are so popular on sweaters and blouses right now, so why not try it in fur?  An easy way to dress up a classic, plain crewneck!

You also have the option of wrapping a fur collar around your neck like a scarf! This is a great way to get extra wear out of the large fur collars that come on your vintage coats!

Attach a fur collar to any blazer to add a chic touch to your everyday business wear.

Another blazer look: tweeds and fur just look amazing together!

You wouldn't even know this was a fur collar from far away!  The thin black fur collar is a great option for plain sweaters and cardigans!

Don't forget dresses!  Adding a touch of fur will make you instantly feel like an Old Hollywood screen goddess!
Fur collars also look great on more casual looks like flannel shirts and jean jackets!
