Goodbye to Love

Well y'all, I hate to say it, but this will be my last blog for Street Scene. Thanks for reading along as I figure this whole blog thing out. I am going on sabbatical for a couple months to D.C., New York, and who knows where else. You know, I'm just having a typical 27 year old life crisis. I've thought about all the things I'd like to talk about in my last blog and I've decided to share the top 3 things I love about Street Scene. So here we go...

1. THE WORK: I get to do the best stuff at my job. My interest in fashion and my BA in art have found a home here. I am lucky enough to have bosses that really like our input, which is so great. From creating and decorating the rooms to buying the merchandise, we do it all together. I get to do arts and crafts, window displays, and merchandising...are you jealous yet?

2. THE STUFF: You have to admit we have some awesome stuff! Everyday people come into the store and ask us "how do you not just spend all your money here?", to this I always reply "well we do". We all are serious collectors. This is not just a job to any of us, it's our obsession. Getting to spend time with all of these treasures has been a dream come true for me.

3. THE WOMEN: In this world of women haters I have had the most incredible experience with these ladies. We are 7 women that support and care for one another. Each one of these women are hilarious and talented in unique ways and I feel so lucky to be one of them. Everyday I come to work I receive positive encouragement and that is a miracle in my book. I just love hanging out with these people!

I hope all of you get to experience such a wonderful working environment, if you get to do what you love you're pretty darn lucky. I have gotten to go to Holiday World, Cabin slumber parties, and even to the Casino boat with these wonderful women...I hope as an alumni I get invited along in the future! I'm not sure what's next for me, but I know that Street Scene will continue to be the coolest ever-changing vintage masterpiece I've ever seen! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of it! I will miss my ladies and I will miss all of you more than you'll ever know!

Love,
Cara
